Parkview Regional Hospital’s Dr. Tim Allen spoke recently at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Mexia, answering questions on COVID-19 testing and giving the latest progress on developing a vaccine for the disease. Allen is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and is Parkview’s hospitalist, which means he checks on every patient in the hospital.
A group of about 50 to 60 people protesting injustice against African Americans met at the Limestone County courthouse Saturday morning and held a “Unity Walk.”
Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced June 10 he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $690.4 million in local sales tax allocations for June, 11.7 percent less than in June 2019. These allocations are based on sales made in April by businesses that report tax monthly.
