About a dozen volunteers met at a Mexia hardware store Saturday morning then moved to a Mexia home that needed a ramp and proceeded to build that ramp.
Limestone County Historical Commission members continued discussion at their Aug. 3 meeting on the possibility of funding a project to straighten and level tombstones, which members had discussed at the previous meeting.
The Mexia school board at its specially called meeting Monday, Aug. 9, heard a proposal for a 2.66 cent rate cut in school taxes. A public hearing on the MISD budget and tax rate will be held Monday, Aug. 23.
Thursday was only the second day of school at Mexia High, and sports fans got to have a glimpse of the new football team – and also the volleyball team, cross-country runners, cheerleaders and many coaches.
