Dear Heloise: I read your column daily and would like to share what I do when I receive or send flower arrangements. If I receive them, I immediately send a text or an email to the person who sent them. I tell them I have received their lovely flowers so they know that they were delivered. I also take a quick photo of the arrangement and enclose it in the message. Finally, I follow up with a written thank-you note that I send in the regular mail.

Have you ever pulled up to a drive-in restaurant, hamburger, barbeque, chicken, or other drive-in, and found yourself in line behind another driver? And when the other person drives off, you pull up to the receiving window to pay for your food only to have the attendant tell you, “You don’t owe a thing. The person ahead of you paid for your meal. The only thing he asks is that you do likewise and pass it onto the next driver.” You may or may not even know the person that was in front of you, but you were pleasantly surprised to find that he had paid for your meal. This is the theme of our devotion this week, passing on the comfort with which you received to someone else who is in need of comfort. Our text is 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.
