Mexia Lions invest in own vision-screening machine

For several years, members of the Mexia Lions Club have conducted eye screenings, using a WelchAllen spot vision screener they borrowed from other Lions clubs. Now, they have their own vision screening machine to test on local children, thanks to donations they received from two generous families and the Club itself.

MPD officers to receive raises

Mexia City Council approved the elimination of two police officer positions at its Monday, March 18, meeting so all uniformed officers and sergeants can get pay raises without increasing the city’s budget.
