Mexia City Council will meet in a special meeting Tuesday, June 10, mainly to discuss items concerning the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
The Lake Mexia Citizens Association will once again sponsor the “Let Freedom Ring” Boat Parade on Saturday, July 6, at 4 p.m. at the marina.

Alumni of Mexia’s Dunbar and Douglass schools are holding a parade Saturday, June 15, to celebrate the memory of Frederick Douglass Elementary and Paul Laurence Dunbar High schools, which were the schools in Mexia for African American students during the days of segregation.
