Dealership commissions face masks for health care facilities

When Mexia Chevrolet dealer Mike Terry heard that Parkview Regional Hospital was asking for donations of personal protective equipment to protect its workers from the threat from those who potentially have the COVID-19 virus, he commissioned a local seamstress, Yeni Rivers, to make 100 face masks for Parkview, and plans to have more masks made for other local health care providers.

The Mexia News contacted many Mexia churches, asking that they share their plans for Easter Sunday. Several said they are meeting for a sunrise dervice at 8 a.m. at the Point Enterprise Community Clubhouse – but everyone should be safe because attendees will remain in their cars or may sit in their lawn chairs next to their vehicles, keeping 6 feet apart to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions.
