Mexia ISD to begin delivering student meals to some locatons
Mexia ISD will expand its drive-thru lunch program to include delivery of meals to specific areas within the geography of the district, according to a post on the school district’s website Tuesday.
Beginning Wednesday, March 25, meals will be delivered Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and noon to five locations.
One will be on the school district’s bus route No. 1, at GBT Trailer Park, 101-299 Pvt. Rd 5493, Groesbeck. That location is off Highway 14 South from Mexia.
A second will be on the school district’s bus route No. 6, Oak Hill Apartments, 778 Oak Hill Drive in Mexia. That location is down Highway 39 South.
A third will be on the school district’s bus route No. 13, Point Enterprise Community Center, 461 LCR 502, Mexia. That is off Highway 1365 East.
The fourth Mexia ISD bus route, No. 32, has two locations that will receive delivery. One is Tehuacana City Hall at 205 Railroad St. in Tehuacana, off Highway 171 Northwest from Mexia. That delivery will be made at 11 a.m.
Another delivery, to the Mexia Housing Authority at 837 Tehuacana Highway in Mexia. will be made at noon.
The delivery of meals will be in addition to the drive-thru meal service, which is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at R.Q. Sims Intermediate until schools return to session.
The meal packets, which include lunch, breakfast for the next day and drinks, are free for all children 18 years old and younger. Enrollment in Mexia ISD is not required to receive the meals.
