Bad car wreck sees air ambulances take victims to hospital
By Roxanne Thompson
Air ambulances were called to the scene of a serious wreck late Thursday afternoon on Hwy. 14 about two miles north of Groesbeck near the entrance to the Ridgewood Park subdivision.
Several state troopers were processing the scene, so a report is not yet available, but a black Ford F-250 pickup truck and a red Ford 150 pickup truck both had extensive damage across their front ends, leading an observer to conclude they probably collided close to head on.
Also responding were Limestone County deputies, two Groesbeck Volunteer Fire Department trucks, a Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department pickup truck, a Limestone Medical Center EMS Unit and a Mexia EMS Unit.
The traffic on Hwy. 14 was backed up for an extended period.
The Saturday paper had already gone to print, but a more complete report will be available in the next edition of The Mexia News.
