Mexia schools closed Thursday, Feb. 3

All schools in the Mexia ISD will be closed tomorrow, Feb. 3, due to the approaching inclement weather which may produce icy conditions.
Superintendent Ryder Appleton announced the closure shortly after noon today. No decision was made about Friday. If, however, the district decides to close Friday, the announcement will appear on The Mexia News online service, Facebook and other media.
Limestone County is included in the National Weather Service’s winter storm warning, predicting rain, sleet, ice and snow with sub-freezing temperatures.
Groesbeck, Wortham, Fairfield, Teague and Dew schools also announced closures.
