The Coolidge girls basketball team applied the defensive clamps to Oglesby in a 65-26 victory in a Class 1A bi-district playoff game at Mart on Tuesday night.

The Mexia Blackcats blew through the District 19-4A basketball season undefeated, so it is no surprise that they dominated the all-district awards.
The Mexia Blackcats (22-5) will go against a mirror image when they battle Waco La Vega (12-5) in a Class 4A area round basketball playoff game at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lorena High School.
A number of local and area teams are playing basketball games Friday night either in the playoffs on the girls’ side, or to warm up for the playoffs on the boys’ side.
