Hilda was born May 2, 1943, in Mart to J.T. and Starlene Yarbrough Martin. She worked for the Haven Nursing Home as a med aide and activity director in addition to working with her husband in car sales.
Although Hilda worked outside the home, her first, and most important, job was being a wife and mother. She loved nothing more than having her home filled with family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as they were the “apple of her eye.” She also enjoyed traveling to Colorado, working puzzles, feeding hummingbirds, watching bull-riding and listening to country music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Starlene Martin; and husband, Dewey “Sonny” Wilson; daughter, Lisa Wilson; grandson, Jacob Padgett; and sister, Mary Blackmon.
Hilda is survived by her loving children, Tony Wilson and wife Carolyn, Terry Padgett and husband Turk, Randy Wilson and wife Carla, all of Mexia, and Kenny Kitchens and wife Kim of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Christina Stewart and husband Leonard, Kody Daniel, Kandis Posey and husband Steven, Christi Silar and husband Lance, Bradley Wilson and wife April, Amber Lehrmann and husband Brandon and Matthew Owen; a number of great-grandchildren (who she loved very much); sister, Janet Pounder and husband Phillip; and a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
