Barbara Evelyn Jones

Barbara Evelyn Jones, of Mart, passed away April 22, 2022, in Waco, at the age of 83. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Prairie Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Smith officiating.

Visitation with the family was prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment followed in the Prairie Hill Cemetery. Thomas Britt, Louis Lowrey Jr., J. Wesley Davis, Casey Glick, Ron Zaruba, John Davis and Scott Glick served as pallbearers.

Barbara was born Sept. 3, 1938, in Waco, to Thomas A. and Dorothy P. (Moore) Reynolds. She was a Dorm Charge for the Mexia State School for 20 years, prior to retirement.

Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She enjoyed spending time with all her family, but there was nothing she cherished more than time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also very fond of her companion, her cat (Little Sister). Barbara was very well known, by her family, as being a good supervisor and letting them know her opinion whenever she felt there was a need to express it.

Barbara was very outgoing, friendly and enjoyed life to the fullest. She liked to take road trips and loved watching the redbirds and woodpeckers. She was a longtime member of Prairie Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Dorothy Reynolds; husbands, Thomas Baugh and Elwood Jones; daughter, Betty Baugh-Glick; and sister, Mary Helen Reynolds.

Barbara is survived by her loving daughters, Kathy Zaruba and husband Ron of Marlin, and Sharla Davis and husband John of Mexia; grandchildren, Thomas Britt and wife Sarah of Rangely, CO, Louis Lowrey Jr. of Riesel, John Wesley Davis and wife Bonny, of Conroe, Kristen Davis of Groesbeck, Khara Glick-Allen and husband Doug, of Dallas, Casey Glick, of Buffalo, and Kalyn Glick of Oakwood; great-grandchildren, Jayden Britt, Zoye Britt, Ashlyn Britt, Emma Davis, Ryan Davis and Kaeson Glick; and sister, Norma Reynolds of McGregor.

Barbara met two special people, Ana and Tameka, at the Fresenius Kidney Center, and she considered as her extended family.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital or Karem-Shriners.
