GEORGIA MAE ASBERRY-WEDLOW
Georgia Mae Asberry-Wedlow was born Dec. 29, 1950, to George and Geraldine Asberry in Mexia. She was called home Friday, April 22, 2022, to be reunited with her late son, Nicholas O’Neal Gillespie; granddaughter, Ciana Nacole Leonard; and her father.
Georgia accepted Christ into her life as a child and united with Rocky United Methodist Church. Georgia worked at Texas Instruments as well as Mexia State School in her early years.
Left behind to cherish her memories are mother, Geraldine Asberry of Mexia; husband, Johnny Wed low of Mexia; children, Anthony Asberry of Mexia, Monica (Cliff) Gober of Atlanta, Nicole Leonard of Fort Worth and Corey Leonard of Mexia; siblings, Betty Bell and Dorthy (Elmer) Cole of Dallas, Mary Helen Powell of Mansfield and Chandler Forge (Judy) of Mexia; 15 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service and arrangements entrusted to Pearly Gates Funeral Home. Service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Westside Church of Christ of Mexia.
