Joshlyn Simmons
Joshlyn Simmons was born to Willie D. Austin and Willie Pope Walker-Moore on Feb. 23, 1951, in Kansas City, Kan. She passed away Nov. 8, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Pope Walker-Moore; brother, Mario Moore; son, Lamont Simmons; sisters-in-law, Ruby Nell Faulk, Shirley Faye Smith, Lottie Mae Jones and Brenda Campbell; brothersin-law, James Campbell and Leon Clark Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Mema Monroe (Darren) of Yuma, Ariz., and Jeanette Simmons; son, Charles Simmons of Vancouver, Wash.; lifetime companion, Jimmy Campbell; sisters, Chiquita Bluitt (Robert) of Mexia, Rosa Miles (Welton Thomas) of Mexia; brothers, Gregory Austin (Mary) and Darrell Moore (Debora) of Vancouver, Wash.; grandchildren, Nicolette Monroe, Derrick Monroe, Zannetta, Lamont, Jamyius, Layla, Zakiyah and Dayton Bott; nieces and nephews, Ashley Bluitt, Latasha Bluitt, Cody Bluitt, Ahren Thomas, David Austin, Christian Austin, Sydney Moore and Drew Moore; best friend, Yvonne Sloan; sister and brothers-in-laws, Bobbie Jean Campbell and Freddie Clark; and a host of family and friends.
Service to be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Ford Chapel Baptist Church in Mexia Arrangements and service entrusted to Pearly Gates Funeral Home of Mexia.
