Joe Glenn Oates

Joe Glenn Oates, of Groesbeck, passed away at Parkview Medical Center in Mexia on Monday, June 3, 2019 at age 91.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Groesbeck Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at Friday, June 7, 2019 at 10:00 AM also at the Groesbeck Funeral Home.  Interment at Old Union Cemetery following services.

Joe Glenn was born April 6, 1928 in Oletha Texas to Arthur Earl and Annie Eunice (Mayo) Oates.  He was married to Frances Merle Oates on February 10, 1951 who preceded him in death along with their son, Johnny Joe Oates.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn Ray Oates and wife Laura, James William “Bill” Oates and wife Barbara, and David Wayne Oates and wife Georgia; six grandchildren, David Warren Oates, John Arthur Oates (wife Renee), Matthew Oates (wife Kelli Michelle), Kenneth Joe Bowen, Billie Yvette Myrick and Jonathan Oates; great grandchildren, Carson Ray Oates, Emma A. Oates, Kairi Elizabeth Oates, and Logan Carter West.
