Tristan Clay Lewis
Tristan Clay Lewis traveled to heaven in the early morning of Friday, May 17, 2019, due to an accident. He was 29 years old. Clay was born Dec. 4, 1989. His life on earth was too short for all of us, but we know we will all be together again. He lived every single minute of his life, and his love and strength blessed us from the day he was born. There was never a better son, brother, uncle, grandson or friend.
Clay was a true country boy; he loved being outdoors and had no desire to live inside any city limits. His happiest times were spent with his family, friends and hunting.
Clay’s mother and father are Linda and James Lewis; his sisters and brothers-in-law are Holly and Bryan Sumruld and Emily and Ben McElreath; and Emily and Ben’s baby daughter, Edyn, is his beloved little niece. Clay’s grandparents are Hugh Ann Bankhead and the late R.B. “Nubbin” Bankhead. Clay had so many friends who he treasured and who loved him.
A celebration on Clay’s life was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brad Brittain officiating. Interment followed in the Mexia Cemetery. Ryan Miller, Justin Barkouskie, Justin Alexander, Ross Goodrum, Bryan Harrig and John Ward served as pallbearers.
Visitation with the family was prior to the service, beginning at 11 a.m.
